AVERY | We are currently working with a woman who has overcome homelessness and is finally able to move out of the shelter and live on her own. She is in need of of $167 to pay her first electric bill. This woman is a domestic and sexual abuse survivor who is doing her best to get back on her feet, and continues to struggle with mental illness. She is making huge strides toward recovery and bettering her situation, and we would like to help her make this step.

We are currently helping a victim of domestic abuse relocate to a safe place away from her abuser. She needs an $800 deposit to move into her new housing ASAP. Safe housing is so important – and this could make a huge difference in this woman’s life as we help her start again and begin to heal.

WATAUGA | We have been made aware of a family in our community that is in danger of losing their home. They face foreclosure on May 22 if they do not bring their mortgage up to date. We are working with them to make sure they can make their payments moving forward, and are confident that this is a sustainable situation – they have simply fallen behind through a series of unfortunate events and unemployment that has now been taken care of.
We were able to fill some of the need through emergency funding, but still need $700 to fill this need and bring their payments up-to-date.
