Need #5095 | Car Payment for Single Mother

    June 13th, 2019

WATAUGA | We’ve been made aware of a single mother in our area who has gotten behind in her car payments due to cut hours during the slow season. While she is working now, she has difficulty due to rheumatoid arthritis and is unable to work full-time. She currently owns $457.60 in back payments. We are confident she will be able to stay current with payments moving forward, but we do not want to see her lose her only mode of transportation, and potentially her job, due to this rough patch. If you would like to donate toward this need, please click on the unique “donate” button below. Thank you!

NEED #5084 | Summer Childcare for Special Needs Foster Child

    May 31st, 2019

WATAUGA | We have been made aware of a foster child from Watauga County who is in need of special summer childcare due to social and developmental disabilities. Child care subsidy will not cover this and the DSS does not currently have the funds to pay for ongoing childcare. This would be a great help for this young man to get the specialized attention and care he needs. We are asking for $1,000 to fill this need, but any little bit helps. Thank you!

FILLED! NEED #5086 | Gas Cards for Homeless Mother

    May 31st, 2019

WATAUGA | We are currently working with a single mother who is struggling with homelessness. She is currently living in a hotel outside her child’s school district, and needs to travel back and forth to drop off and pick the child up from school. This has put a burden on her finances and she cannot afford the gas to get through the end of the school year. We would like to provide her with $50 in gas cards to get her through the next two weeks until school is out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
